Von voyage

My elder sister just set foot in Dubai for a greener pasture and hopefully, she can find a job as soon as possible. She's now with my cousins and aunt who earlier migrated to UAE to earn a better living.

But what makes it more sad, no one will iron my clothes anymore and that means I have to bear the responsibility on household chores. Anyway, I still have my younger brother who can assist me ran an errand for our mother. Hehehe.

Nurses Prayer to our Senators

Dear God Almighty, we, members of the Filipino nursing community, have come together in prayer to seek your compassionate intercession as we face up to an enormous challenge to the nursing profession.
We pray before You, dear Lord, as oir esteemed Senators reflect on the fate of the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) after the treaty's proponents miserably failed to defend its merits, including its constitutionality, in five successive hearings called by the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
We pray that our Senators will take note of the concerns of the Filipino people as put forward with much conviction and honesty by the various representatives of the civil society, labor movement and the academe.
We pray, particular, that our Senators will pay attention to the issues raised by the Philippine Nurses Association, the nursing specialty and interest groups and our faithful supporters from the multisectoral Magkaisa Junk JPEPA Coalition as regards the fundamental shortcomings of the Japan-RP trade and investment pact in protecting the dignity and welfare of the Filipino nurses and caregivers.
We pray that our Senators and the Filipino people will not turn a blind eye to the harsh prospect of our health care workers being short changed, abused and exploited under the current terms of JPEPA.
We pray that our Senators will stand their ground in asserting the rule of law, the sacredness o our people's sovereignty and the primacy of human dignity, especially that o the Filipino nurses and caregivers, as they weigh up JPEPA.
We thank you, God Almighty, for listening to our shared prayer as we continue to defend the sanctity of the nursing profession and the well-being of our nation.
Amen.
